Me and My Dramatic Side!

I know that my original post in regards to Aurora's situation I sounded the alarm bells, but we all know that I love to be a little over the top. This time around I'm going to be much more positive which is how I'm actually looking at this whole situation (plus Elisa Tung got after me so as a favor to her I'm cheering things up a bit).

Aurora is truly a gem in the manga publishing world. They consistently produce high quality work and they aren't afraid to go out on a limb and publish titles that others might shy away from. They also take care of their readers and answer any questions or concerns when you contact them. I don't know much about the world of publishing so when Yaoi Press brought the spotlight to shine on the return issue which is affecting Aurora's bottom line I found it very enlightening (click here to read that article).

Yes, we know that the economy has stalled to a halt because of the scary situation that we see. Does that mean that you have to stop spending any and all amounts of spare cash you have? Me, I'm a bit of a shopaholic so for me to stop buying anything is true torture. I save a little, pay my bills, but I also indulge on a guilty pleasure or two. If we focus solely on the negative, life's outlook is grim and we all need an escape. For me that escape is manga, but I can't keep the manga business afloat all by myself people!

Aurora is trying to make up some of their losses through the returns through this sale. Personally this is a great deal. I've already made my order and will be able to boast that I own every book that Aurora/Deux Press/Luv Luv Press has ever published. Their fate is not set in stone and I know that every business has both ups and downs. In today's economy it seems that everyone is in the down cycle. I know this for a fact because even though I recently got a new job they are also struggling with all of the dips in the economy and it is a federal institution. But we can still do our part. Support your favorite manga companies. Aurora happens to be one of mine and I will do all I can to show them my love. The outcome that they are looking at isn't set in stone, and like I mentioned they won't really know anything until after Anime Expo in July. That is several months away which is plenty of time to turn things around!

To help you out I want to give you some recommendations of some of the titles that they have brought us.
