Kissing by Teiko Sasaki and Shoko Takaku review

Kissing

Author/Artist: Teiko Sasaki/Shoko Takaku

Publisher: Juné

Rating: YA - 16 and above

Genre: Yaoi, Drama, Romance

Grade: B

Kazushi and Haru have been best friends since childhood. They are now in college but are still inseparable. One day at school Kazushi kisses Haru to ward off the advances of pushy girls. Kazushi says that it's harmless, but was it? Haru is a tad confused and doesn't seem to know what to do.

Haru and Kazushi's birthdays are only three days apart and they are quickly approaching. Kazushi lets it slip that he's in love and Haru wants to know who with. Be careful what you wish for, Haru! Kazushi confesses to Haru and Haru is beside himself. He wants to remain friends with Kazushi but doesn't feel the same way. Or does he? Will Haru fall in love with Kazushi or will he continue to just be friends?

Teiko Sasaki wrote the story and Shoko Takaku did the art. Takaku-sensei is also known for her artwork in Passion. The characters are quite attractive and they do have some personality. This is a pretty good manga and it has the Takaku-sensei touch. The story is good but I do really prefer Passion. The childhood friend scenario is a bit common in the yaoi genre. If done right you don't notice it. This one is close, and this one is definitely one to catch.
